Ira Kohler is a 26-year-old from Plainview, Long Island. On October 7th, he boarded a helicopter with the rest of his unit from the IDF's 890th Paratroopers battalion and flew to kibbutz Be'eri, which had been overrun by terrorists. After nearly two days of intense fighting, the town was secure — and Ira learned that Omer Neutra, his friend from Plainview — had been captured when the tank he commanded had been disabled. Ira went on to serve more than 100 days in Gaza, hoping desperately to find his friend...
On Monday, June 22, you're invited to join Reform Movement Alumni for Israel and JNFuture in the Upper East Side for dinner, drinks and socializing — and to hear Ira's story, ask questions, and learn from someone like you what happened on the ground during Israel's darkest hour.
This event is for those in their 20s and 30s.
Registration is required; walk-ins are not permitted.
JNFuture is Jewish National Fund’s 22-40 year old network which unites likeminded young philanthropists around a shared passion for Israel and connection.
The Reform Movement Alumni for Israel (RAFI) is a new leadership program designed to deepen young adults' commitment to Israel and the Jewish people through meaningful travel, learning and social experiences. This program is made possible thanks to grants from the JNF Boruchin Center and The Natan Fund.
