Description

Jump Cut returns to the Parkway Theater in McKees Rocks for our Jump Cut Roadshow:  so bad they're good films hosted by our very own Wayne Massey!

Next up: Jump Cut Roadshow presents Gammera the Invincible (1966)

Giant Turtle? Baloney says scientists!

Saturday, June 25, Jump Cut Roadshow presents a gem of a movie - the first in a series of films made in the '60s and '70s featuring a giant turtle that flies – the great granddaddy of all turtles: Gammera the Invincible!

A nuclear bomb explodes in the Arctic awakening Gammera from a 2-million-year hibernation, and he’s not happy! Thus begins a trail of destruction with Gammera incinerating everything in his path - ships, lighthouses, and a utility company - before setting his sights on Tokyo. Scientists argue (Read, you ignorant ape, read!), dance parties ensue (to Gammera’s theme song, of course!), and a turtle-obsessed little boy tries to plead for Gammera’s life, but the military’s best efforts to stop him fail. They must resort to drastic measures to save the world by blasting Gammera off to Mars in a rocket. Sayonara, Gammera!

Fun Fact: Wes Farrell, who wrote the 1965 hit song "Hang on Sloopy," wrote the Gammera theme song!

Saturday, June 25 at the Parkway Theater & Film Lounge in McKees Rocks!

Tickets $8 - Film at 10:30pm

Upcoming Roadshows:

7/16 - Satan's Cheerleaders (1977)

8/20 - Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973)

The Parkway Theater and Film Lounge features a full bar and Abjuration Brewing, all under the same roof. so come hang out before the show!
