Description

Film Lounge in McKees Rocks for our Jump Cut Roadshow: so bad they're good films hosted by our very own Wayne Massey!

Next up: The Black Six (1973)

The Black Six is a rough gang of bikers that just returned from Vietnam looking for nothing but a good time and brotherly love.

Bubba (Gene Washington) returns home to find that his brother Eddie (Robert Howard) has been killed by a white supremacist motorcycle gang led by Thor (Ben Davidson), who objected to the fact that Eddie had been dating his sister. Bubba and the Black Six vow to avenge his brother’s death, which leads to battles with racist townies, uncaring police, and Thor’s gang.

Director Matt Cimber has lived quite a life. He was married to Jayne Mansfield, created the GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, and he directed movies like Butterfly, The Witch Who Came from the Sea, and The Candy Tangerine Man to name a few. He did three blaxploitation pictures in the mid ‘70s: The Black Six (1973), Lady Cocoa (1975) and The Candy Tangerine Man (1975). Some say one of Cimber’s greatest accomplishments was his convincing six currently playing NFL stars to appear in a black biker film, most notable among them being Pittsburgh’s own Mean Joe Greene! Fans of Cimber’s films include Samuel Jackson and Quentin Tarantino!
