Description
The purpose of this tour is for young children to hear firsthand about farming from a kid’s perspective.
This tour is perfect for 2nd- 5th graders and is lead in part by our young son who has been involved in the design, build and implementation of the aquaponics system since he was 4 years old.
The tour covers:
- The basics of how the aquaponics system works.
- Growing herbs and microgreens.
- Overview of uses and crafts.
- How we make new plants from taking cuttings of mature plants.
- Replanting them into the field. The farm harvests lavender to distill to produce artisanal lavender essential oil, and farm made body and household products.
Make and take-home a pot of lavender cuttings to care for and a bundle of herbs to dry.
Handouts include 2 coloring pages with integrated notes of key information from the tour.

Weather policy: Riain or shine event. Event may only be canceled if there are unsafe weather conditions, in the event of “acts of god,” health or safety mandates or if the instructor/host is incapacitated.
Tickets are nonrefundable, in the unlikely event that the event must be canceled, store credit will be issued good toward future classes or farm products.
