Description

Juniper is the most iconic bonsai tree in the world of bonsai. Now is your chance to create your very own little masterpiece! We have obtained 8 fantastic junipers with awesome trunks! They are blue rug and blue pacific juniper. Blue rug juniper is native to North America and Blue pacific is a sand growing plant from Japan. Hank Gross will lead the group in styling these trees. Topics such a bending major branches will be discussed in the intermediate workshop. You will be a great candidate for this class if you have taken the beginner class, or just want a more in depth guide to juniper styling after accumulating a few years of bonsai experience. The first class will be May 17 and the course fee includes plant, wire, and the class will schedule with Hank a repot session for spring 2026 included in the course fee. Students will be offered a ceramic pot for the spring session, where the club will provide soil, wire, and screen material to cover drainage holes in the pots, everything you need to settle your masterpiece to be into a proper container. You may also bring your own container if you prefer to use that instead. This promised to be a fun hands on experience for all! We look forward to seeing you there. Members that are not in the class are welcome to attend as silent observers.
