Description
The Kansas State Choirs 2023 All-State Prep Day is on Thursday, September 14 from 8:30am-4:00pm on Kansas State University's campus. High school students auditioning for the Kansas All-State Choirs will join K-State faculty and students in learning their All-State audition music in sectionals, large group rehearsals, and combined mass rehearsals. Lunch is not provided, however, there will be a break during which we recommend exploring the Student Union or Aggieville for great dining options! Students will also attend a performance by the premier K-State a cappella group, In-A-Chord.
The cost is $5 per student prior to Sept. 1 and $10 per student after Sept. 4 (final deadline: 09/08)
STUDENTS ATTENDING INDIVIDUALLY: You can register yourself
TEACHERS: You can register your class/group here and will be contacted after registration for your students' names and voice parts
General Schedule (a more detailed schedule will be sent out to attendees later)
8:30am–8:45am - Check-in
9:00am - Introduction and warm-ups with Maestro Gibbs
9:30am - Student sectionals (both 4-part and 2-part) with KSU professors and KSU choral students. Teachers will be in a lecture/workshop/Q&A with Maestro Gibbs
11:30am - LUNCH (On your own in Aggieville or the K-State Student Union - lots of options available!)
1:30pm - Performance by In-A-Chord (Kansas State University's award-winning a cappella group)
2:00pm - Mass rehearsal with Maestro Gibbs on All-State Repertoire
3:00-3:30pm - (optional) Audition tips from panel of teachers & judges
