Svinēsim 65 gadus, kopš piedzima trimdas 13 stīgu kokle! Koncertā dzirdēsim publikas iemīļotas un laika pārbaudi izturējušas A.Jansona, M.Aldiņa, K.Lietiņa un citu autoru dziesmu apdares koklēm. Iztēlosimies, kā kokle varētu skanēt nākotnē. Koncertā piedalās koklētāji un vokālās grupas no ASV un Kanādas, kā arī Ņujorkas latviešu koris ar Bruno Skultes dziesmu "Ganiņš biju".

 

Let’s celebrate 65 years since the 13-string kokle was born in exile! Audience favorites and time-tested kokle arrangements by A. Jansons, M. Aldiņš, K. Lietiņš, and others. We will imagine how the kokle might sound in the future. The concert includes kokle players and vocal groups from the United States and Canada and will feature the New York Latvian Choir performing Bruno Skulte’s “Ganiņš biju”.

XVI Vispārējie dziesmu un deju svētki ASV / XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival

XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival Inc ir organizācija, kas rīko XVI ASV Latviešu dziesmu un deju svētkus. Svētki notiks ASV, Mičiganas štatā, Grand Rapidos, no 2026. gada līdz 5. jūlijam. Pasākuma mērķis ir nodrošināt nozīmīgu kultūras pieredzi, organizējot festivālu ar koru koncertiem, deju priekšnesumiem, mākslas un citiem kultūras pasākumiem, kas atspoguļo latviešu tradīciju daudzveidību. 

 

XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival Inc is the organizing body for the next major Latvian Song and Dance Festival in North America, to be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from July 1-5, 2026. The event aims to create a vibrant cultural experience by hosting a festival with choir concerts, dance performances, art and other cultural events that showcase Latvian traditions. 

 

XVI Latvian Song and Dance Festival Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization, recognized by the IRS as a non-profit organization operating for tax-exempt purposes.  Contributions made to it are tax-deductible.
