Kym’s traditional hand drum, acoustic guitar, full-bodied voice and authentic storytelling are a powerful force. She performs solo, duo, trio and full band, collaborating with talented artists on vocal harmonies, cello, keys, mandolin, banjo and electric guitar. Indigenous-folk and country tones alongside her poignant lyrics will capture your heart — her eloquent performances have a lasting impact on audiences of all ages, messages of inspiration and hope.

Kym is also a renowned Visual Artist, Cultural Ambassador, Presenter and Advocate and is regularly called upon by organizations to offer Indigenous insight and acts as a healing bridge, connecting hearts and minds across Turtle Island.

A respected elder-in-training of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation, also known as Prince George, BC, Kym has been speaking, emceeing and performing at theatres, festivals, schools, conferences, traditional welcoming ceremonies, and cultural gatherings for over 20 years.

She’s releasing a children’s album in ancestral languages in 2024.

“Kym Gouchie is an artist who has the ability to momentarily make us feel that time can stand still. Performing with a combination of soulful expression, focused intent, integrity, and artistic depth, Gouchie embraces and holds audiences while imparting messages and truths in songs that need to be heard. Kym is a truly unique artist who seamlessly blends the contemporary with the traditional.” ~ Peter North, Artistic Director/Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival.

Naomi Kavka is a visceral entertainer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist, residing in Smithers, British Columbia. Her many talents have her performing on cello with the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, on electric guitar in the surf rock band Pitted, and as a solo artist, fronting her own band with a new album currently in production. She is a well loved collaborator, accompanying various artists such as Kym Gouchie, Marcel Gagnon, Wax Mannequin, and others. Recent releases of her songwriting include Slammed Doors & Severance (2017) and Back West (2019), and recent collaborations include cello arrangements on Wax Mannequin's "Red Brain", featured vocals on the Black Dog String Quartet's "A Thousand Times Brighter" and cello and vocals on Kym Gouchie's upcoming children's album.
