37 Lake Julian RoadEnjoy a unique holiday experience at the popular Lights by the Lake foot tour that opens the annual Lake Julian Festival of Lights. This is the only way to experience the light show from the perspective of a stroll through the festival. We have opened the show for walking guests for one night only on November 30th from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.!
The event will be include holiday craft-making, snacks, and family-friendly activities.
Lake Julian Festival of Lights has become a tradition for many mountain families and visitors. 20% of all proceeds benefit Special Olympics Buncombe County. You will have the option at checkout to make an additional donation.

Purchase your tickets in advance as this event has sold out in the past.
Wear comfortable shoes, warm clothing, and be prepared to walk over half a mile on a paved walkway. The walkway is of moderate difficulty with some inclines. Parents with young children are welcome to bring strollers or wagons. Pets are not permitted at the walk through. Parking will be available at Koontz Intermediate School and Estes Elementary School. Cars will not be permitted to enter the park.

Over eighty nonprofit organizations, businesses, governmental departments, and other partners, as well as many older adult volunteers, participate in the committees and working groups affiliated with Age-Friendly Buncombe.
