Description
The second instalment of the Land Use Plus conference will explore how Sussex can lead the way in creating and shoring up true farm to fork local food systems.
Our panel discussion on Enterprise Stacking will explore how building food producing communities can help the public to understand the impact their food choices have, shorten supply chains, and put the power back in the hands of the producer. The panel includes Duncan Ellis of Longbridge Regenerative. We will follow this up with a visioning workshop for a beacon farm, based on the Stanmer Estate footprint, and imagine land which is truly multiuse use for people, food and nature. Our Meat Working Group of industry professionals will then discuss the emerging findings of our Local Meat Report, which demonstrates the need to support Sussex's last remaining local abattoir. The evening will end with drink and nibbles provided by a range of excellent local producers.
