Session 2 — The Festival Application Bootcamp

Launch Pad 2027: Workshops for Working Musicians

Festival application season is coming - let’s get your 2027 submissions ready.

The second session of Launch Pad 2027 is a hands-on workshop designed to help you navigate the sometimes mysterious world of music festival applications: where to find opportunities, when to apply, what presenters are actually looking for, and how to give your application its best shot.

We’ll work through the anatomy of a strong festival submission, including timelines and planning, artist bios and application copy, EPKs, live video, routing and geography, appropriate festival targeting, follow-ups, and some of the common mistakes that can sink an otherwise strong application.

We’ll also dig into strategy. Rather than firing the same application at every festival in the country, we’ll talk about identifying the festivals where your music actually belongs, building relationships with presenters, keeping track of hundreds of deadlines, and developing a realistic application plan for your 2027 season.

And we’ll hear from a guest mentor from the festival industry, offering perspective from the other side of the application pile and helping answer your questions about how festival programming actually works.

Every participant will also receive access to Dan Tait’s Starry Nights Festival List — a living resource featuring 300+ active festivals, application links and social media information, with a strong focus on Western Canada. We’ll use the list during the workshop to start identifying opportunities and building your own 2027 festival plan.

Monday, October 26 · 5–8pm
Apple Blossom Room — The Bloc Creative Campus
2041 Harvey Ave, Kelowna, BC

Admission is $65 per workshop, or grab a Launch Pad 2027 Season Pass and attend all six workshops for $300.

Dinner is included! A vegan-friendly meal will be prepared for you by your host, Dan Tait.

Real tools. Real conversations. Get ready for 2027.
