Laura Cortese and the Dance Cards are like sonic magpies: curious and resourceful adventurers traversing great distances, collecting melodies and rhythms that glitter like jewels in the sun. This indie-folk trio combines the virtuosic power of strings (fiddle, cello, and bass) to craft a new sound layered with vocal harmonies and influenced by countless folk traditions, edgy pop, dance-worthy tunes, and dazzling rock ’n’ roll. Led by master fiddler and vocalist Laura Cortese, the artists will build a musical bonfire for us to gather around, to leave our worries at the door and fill the hall with beauty and warmth.
