Join us for a hands-on, practical class where we’ll walk through everything you need to know to successfully grow lavender—while you enjoy a delicious lavender drink included with your ticket. 💜
We’ll cover the essentials (and the things most people get wrong):
🌱 How to properly plant lavender in the ground
🪴 Best practices for potting lavender (pre-order your lavender here)
☀️ Ideal placement for sunlight and airflow
🌾 Soil preparation and drainage (critical in Iowa)
✂️ When and how to prune for long-term health
❄️ And most importantly—how to overwinter lavender for the best chance of success in our unpredictable Midwest climate

To set you up for success, we’ve curated lavender varieties that perform best in Iowa. You can pre-order plants at calyxcreek.farm and pick them up during the class.
You’re also welcome to bring your own pots if you’d like to plant during the class, we'll get you some of our perfect for lavender soil. For potting, we recommend sticking with Big Time Blue or Big Time White, as they perform best in containers.
Whether you’re brand new to lavender or looking to finally get it right, this class will give you the confidence and clarity you need.
