Growing tobacco since the mid-1600s, the Dixon Family Farm was established in 1881. and recognized as a Maryland Century Farm. Using biodynamic farming practices, we now grow acres of lavender, wine grapes, cut flowers, wildflowers, vegetables, herbs, and a variety of botanicals we use in our farm-made soaps and other products. We harvest and distill lavender and other botanicals every summer and use steam distillation to produce high-quality essential oils. Join us at the peak of lavender season for a relaxing and creative experience on the farm. In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to craft a beautiful 12″ lavender wreath using fragrant, freshly harvested and grown right here at the Dixon Family Farm.
When: Sunday June 29th 5-7 pm
Where: 27075 S. Sandgates Rd., Mechanicsville
Each participant will receive:
- A wire wreath frame (12″)
- Farm-harvested fresh lavender
- Floral wire & wire snips
- Step-by-step instruction in a scenic outdoor setting
