Description

1:30-3:00 pm | Wednesday | September 2 | Turnage Theater Gallery

Ticket/Donation: $5 for AOP members/$10 non-members

Dr. Pisano will present this very short story by Herman Melville, discovered as a manuscript after the author’s death. It was the last thing Melville ever wrote and holds fascinating clues to his life and the seaside places he held dear. Even if you haven’t read that thick book about the whale, you will enjoy this glimpse into the mind of a great American novelist.

Book: Daniel Orme is in the public domain and can be read online at this link:

Dr. Pisano earned his PhD at Penn State before working at West Virginia State College and the Columbia Area Career Center in Missouri, where he served as a literacy specialist. He is also a crafter of dioramas on which he paints miniature murals.
