In the face of rising violence against the LGBTQ+ community nationwide, Wunderbar and CNY Pride are partnering to bring the CNY community with "Self-Defense & Empowerment Training" for LGBTQ+ people

INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP

Saturday January 21, 4pm – 7pm
3 hour workshop where participants are led through:
               • Situational Awareness
               • Shelter-In-Place Training
               • Psychological Training

$10 fee for workshop

Further Training by Sharif Anael-Bey
This workshop will act as an introduction to a 6-week further training "Basic Hand to Hand Combat", which participants can opt to register for after the workshop. 

Objectives: Escape and Threat Neutralization 
Components: Barehand Defensives, Improvised Weapons, Restraint/Counter-Restraint 

Further Training will take place on Thursdays from 5:30pm - 7pm on January 26, February 2, February 9, February 16, February 23, and March 2. 

Accessibility
All/any ranges of physical ability may attend the workshop and further training. Everything taught is easily adjusted to specific needs, including but not limited to wheelchair-bound, arthritis, joint replacements, asthma, etc.
