What happens when music is experienced in the glow of candlelight?
Light invites audiences into an intimate evening where music, architecture, and atmosphere come together to create a concert unlike any other. Surrounded by the warm glow of hundreds of candles, the soaring voices of the St. John's Boys' Choir fill the Great Hall with music that reflects on light, hope, wonder, and beauty.
As darkness gives way to candlelight, familiar spaces are transformed, inviting listeners to slow down, listen deeply, and experience the music in a setting that heightens both sight and sound. The interplay of flickering light, resonant acoustics, and youthful voices creates a performance that is both contemplative and inspiring.
Following the concert, guests are invited to continue the evening with a wine and cheese reception, offering an opportunity to gather, reflect, and connect with fellow audience members. Seating is limited to 200 guests, ensuring an intimate experience for all who attend.
Now in its 45th season, the St. John’s Boys’ Choir continues the tradition of enabling boys to express themselves through music and provides an environment that nurtures and encourages creativity. Founded in 1981 by Br. Paul Richards and the Saint John’s monastic community, the organization has grown to include four choral ensembles which perform more than fifty engagements annually. Members of the choir represent home, public, and private schools in more than fifteen communities around Central Minnesota.
