Description
Chaplin’s deeply personal Limelight follows Calvero (Chaplin), a once-famous vaudeville clown now fading into obscurity in 1914 London. After saving a despondent young dancer, Terry (Claire Bloom), from suicide, Calvero nurses her back to health and encourages her to return to the stage. As her star rises, Calvero confronts his own fears, memories, and regrets in this poignant meditation on aging, art, and the meaning of life.
