Description

Join us for a vibrant celebration of literature and queer pride at "Literary Pop! Pride" on Monday, June 24th at 7 PM, now hosted at the welcoming Strut SF in the heart of San Francisco's Castro District. This special event will feature readings from some of the Bay Area’s most talented queer authors and performers.

June Martin (she/her)

June Martin is a local San Francisco author and performer celebrated for her captivating storytelling and deep engagement with the queer community. Her work often explores themes of identity and belonging, resonating deeply with audiences and bringing a unique voice to the literary scene.

James J Siegel (he/him)

James J Siegel is a well-known poet and author in the San Francisco literary community. Known for his poignant and powerful poetry, James has been an active contributor to the LGBTQ+ literary scene, participating in numerous readings and events that highlight his impactful storytelling.

Baruch Porras Hernandez (he/him)

Baruch Porras Hernandez is a dynamic performer, poet, and comedian recognized for his energetic and heartfelt performances. His work explores themes of culture, identity, and queerness, making him a beloved figure in the local literary and comedy scenes. Wonder Dave (he/him)

Wonder Dave is a versatile host, performer, and writer known for his engaging and inclusive performances. As a prominent figure in the queer comedy and literary communities, he creates spaces that celebrate diverse voices and stories, bringing humor and heart to every event he hosts.

About Strut SF:

Strut SF, located at 470 Castro Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, is a health and wellness center operated by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF). Since its opening in January 2016, Strut has been a cornerstone for the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities, offering a wide range of services that promote holistic health and wellness. These services include HIV and STI testing, PrEP and PEP services, substance use and mental health counseling, and various community-building activities.

Strut is designed to be a welcoming and transparent space, hosting numerous events such as art shows, open mic nights, book clubs, and more. Its mission is to provide comprehensive support and care in a stigma-free environment, making it a vital hub for community engagement and health services in San Francisco.
