Living Off the Land: A Practical Guide to Sustainability
Join us at Miller Flowers for our exciting new series designed to empower you with the knowledge and skills to live more sustainably. As we face rising food costs and shortages, learning how to grow and raise your own food is more important than ever. Over the next six weeks, we’ll host hands-on workshops and engaging sessions led by experienced instructors to help you make the most of your land, whether you have a small backyard or acres of space.

Fermentation Workshop.
Fermentation is one of the oldest methods of food preservation. All over the world it is used for the creation and the preservation of food, including beer, wine, sauerkraut, kimchi, sour pickles, yogurt, etc.
Ohio State University, Darke County Extension’s Tina McGillvary is offering a fermentation workshop, where participants will learn the principles, process and tools of fermentation and how it is used to create sauerkraut. This is a hands-on workshop and workshop attendees will taste test items made in class.
