About Lola's Kusina
Lola’s Kusina is a multidimensional eatery and cultural project by local Chef-Owner & artist Michelle Castillo. The concept looks to preserve Filipino food, traditions, and culture with an intergenerational feel while building community through food.
Lola’s Kusina started as a dinner series for artists, became a pop-up, a sari-sari store art installation, and provides educational workshops on Filipino cuisine and ancestral plants. We’ve hosted public & private supper clubs & Kamayans, a Filipino communal feast celebrating the pre-colonial tradition of eating with our hands.
Lola’s Kusina offers catering, private chef services, and you can now find us at a local favorite, The Villagefest on Thursday nights in Downtown Palm Springs! The eatery is inspired by her Lola and Lolo and eating at their house in Palm Springs, CA every Saturday.
