Description
One long table set against the badlands, and a family-style dinner made almost entirely from what your neighbours raise, bake, and grow.
Chef Mike Benci is cooking. He's a Red Seal chef and a Drumheller local who runs the kitchen at his family's Pizza 249, and who cooked at WURST in Calgary and at Sky 360 atop the Calgary Tower before coming home.
What's on the table, and who it came from:
Beef and pork from Boe Farms, a fourth-generation family farm near Dalum
Lamb from Iron Kreek Ranch, certified grassfed and raised outdoors on pasture
Chicken from Mitch and Ashley Larson, who manage Barney's
A charcuterie board from Pioneer Butchery in Calgary, donated for the evening
Seasonal produce and fresh bread from Alberta growers and bakers
An optional wine pairing from Field Stone Fruit Wines and DNA Gardens
The producers will be at the table with you. You'll hear how it was raised from the people who raised it.
How the night runs: arrive at six for a reception, with passed appetizers and cocktails available for purchase. Charcuterie once everyone is seated. Then dinner served family-style down the length of the table, dessert, and a last pour as the badlands sky goes dark.
Seats are $125.
A table of six is $650.
The wine pairing is $25 per plate. (Add-on)
The table seats what it seats. Once it's full, that's the night.
