Hawaiian Gardens, California 90716Join us for our summer RETREAT of 2026 at St. Peter Chanel - with Father Ed Broom, OMV as the retreat master. Our theme this year is "BUILT TO LAST: A Retreat on Love, Discernment & the Vocation of Marriage" inspired by Pope St. John Paul II (Love and Responsibility & Theology of the Body) and St. Ignatius of Loyola (Spiritual Exercises). This event is open to all young adults from ages 18-40s, and is designed to help those who are Single, Dating & Engaged to discern/prepare for the vocation of marriage and to help those who are Married to enrich and deepen their marital covenant.
The retreat will take place from 8am - 3:30pm (Pacific Time) on Saturday, August 15 at the "Small Church" of Saint Peter Chanel Catholic Church (Hawaiian Gardens, CA). There will be mass, 3 talks, reflection time, Eucharistic adoration, and small-group breakout discussions, followed by an optional social/fellowship afterwards (location TBA). Check-in opens at 7:15am, with Mass starting promptly at 8am.
This Retreat will explore IMPORTANT TOPICS FOR THOSE WHO ARE SINGLES, DATING, ENGAGED OR MARRIED:
What Marriage is really for: Understanding the Goal, Vision & Key Ingredients of a Strong Marriage
Learning to Discern in Love: How do I know if this person (or this path) is God's will for me? How do I continue to discern life decisions with my spouse throughout marriage?
(For Singles/Dating/Engaged) How do I start preparing myself (and my partner) for marriage and parenthood well before marriage?
(For Married) How can we strengthen our marriage and build mutual compatibility by working through differences and working with each other’s strengths/flaws?

A free-will donation of $25 per person is suggested to help cover the costs of the event. But feel free to donate any amount. Your donation will be collected during the check-in process (by cash, check or credit/debit card). All are welcome to attend even if you are unable to give.

BIOGRAPHIES OF PRESENTER - FR. ED BROOM, OMV
FR. ED BROOM, OMV is the Associate Pastor at St. Peter Chanel Church in Hawaiian Gardens, California. He is a member of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary and was ordained by Pope St. John Paul II in St Peter’s Basilica on May 25, 1986. Fr Ed's teaches Catholic Ignatian Marian Spirituality through articles, podcasts, a radio show, retreats and spiritual direction. Fr. Ed is the author of multiple books: "From Humdrum to Holy," "Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary through the Mysteries of the Rosary," "Roadmap to Heaven: A Catholic Plan of Life," "Compendium of Marian Devotions," and "How to Overcome Distraction in Prayer."
