Join us for our second SPEAKER EVENT of 2026 - featuring Father Pablo Martinez & the Carmelite Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Los Angeles - with 2 Inspiring Talks/Q&A. Our theme for the year is "The Foundation of Healthy Marriage & Parenthood"  and this second event will explore the topic of "A UNIVERSAL CALL TO SPIRITUAL PARENTHOOD: Understanding True Masculinity & Femininity"  inspired by the teachings of St. John Paul II. 

The event will take place from 2:30pm - 4:30pm (Pacific Time) on Saturday, March 14 at Saint Philip the Apostle Church (Pasadena, CA).

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

  • What is Spiritual Parenthood & in what ways are we all called to it?
  • Why is it important for each of us to discover our Spiritual Fatherhood & Motherhood - regardless of our vocation?
  • How are Authentic Masculinity & Femininity closely tied to our Spiritual Fatherhood & Motherhood?
  • What are Concrete Ways for Men & Women (single, dating, engaged, married, or celibate) to discern and practice Spiritual Parenthood?

An optional free-will donation of $5 per person is suggested to help cover the costs of the event. But feel free to donate any amount. All are welcome to attend even if you are unable to give.

BIOGRAPHIES OF PRESENTERS - FATHER PABLO MARTINEZ & THE CARMELITE SISTERS OF LA

FATHER PABLO MARTINEZ is a Catholic priest from Madrid, Spain, with 17 years of ministry. He belongs to The Work of the Church, a community founded in Spain. Throughout these years, he has served as pastor, parochial vicar, and missionary in different countries, including Spain, Italy, Cuba, Mexico, and several parts of Africa. He currently lives in Los Angeles, where he is pursuing a Master’s in Pastoral Theology at Loyola Marymount University, with a particular focus on spiritual direction and pastoral accompaniment.

SISTER SHAWN PAULINE OF CARMEL is a native of the beautiful Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. She attended Franciscan University of Steubenville where she received a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Theology. Sister Shawn Pauline entered the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles in 2003 and made her final vows on July 15th, 2012. She has served in administration for a senior living home for ten years and two years in Development. Sister has served also as a Middle School English teacher at St. Theresa Catholic School in Miami, Florida. For the past three years, Sister has been assigned as the Directress of Novices for her Religious Family. Sister Shawn Pauline has a passionate desire to live fully the mission of the Carmelite Sisters to stand in the presence of the living God, and with Mary, make known to the world the love of the Sacred Heart.
