Join us for our KICKOFF EVENT FOR 2027 - featuring Fr. Matthias Lambrecht, who will explore the topic of "LOVE AS A DECISION: Learning to Discern & Live with Intentionality" inspired by the teachings of St. John Paul II.
The event will take place from 1:30pm - 3pm (Pacific Time) on Saturday, January 16, 2027 at St. Therese Catholic Church (Alhambra, CA) - starting with a talk + Q&A, followed by a social/fellowship afterwards (location TBA). Doors open at 1:00pm.
This Talk will explore IMPORTANT TOPICS FOR ALL WHETHER THEY ARE SINGLES, DATING, ENGAGED OR MARRIED:
Why is Love a Decision and not just a Feeling/Emotion?
What is Discernment? What are the types of daily or major decisions that each of us needs to carefully discern? Is there a reliable process we can follow to properly discern God's will for us?
What does Intentionality mean? Why is intentionality important in discerning, in forming healthy relationships and in living?
What role do Discernment and Intentionality play in our vocations (regardless of whether we are single, dating, engaged, married, celibate or still trying to figure it out)?

An optional free-will donation of $7 per person is suggested to help cover the costs of the event. But feel free to donate any amount. All are welcome to attend even if you are unable to give.

BIOGRAGHY - Fr. Matthias Lambrecht
Father Matthias Lambrecht, O.C.D., is a Discalced Carmelite friar serving as the Vocations Director of the California-Arizona Province of St. Joseph. Originally from Washington State, he discerned his vocation after college while working in youth ministry and performing in a Catholic rock band. Now a dynamic retreat leader and spiritual guide, Father Matthias brings the Carmelite tradition to life through engaging talks that blend contemplative depth with real-world relevance. His passion for helping young adults grow in faith makes him a compelling voice for today’s Catholic professionals.
