Enjoy an evening of illumination and music in Downtown Wellen! Join your community to place hundreds of glowing lanterns in a moment of reflection and celebration at the ceremonial opening of Downtown Wellen’s Grand Lake. The evening will begin with a signature jazz concert by The Eighth Note Collective, a dynamic group of Orlando based musicians who bring a fresh take on Classic Jazz music. At sundown, we'll line the Grand Lake with luminary bags, followed by a magical display of projection art choreographed to the smooth sounds of jazz.
Participants will have the opportunity to personalize their luminary bag in remembrance of loved ones ahead of placing them along the lake.
This special VIP EXPERIENCE includes a reserved table for 2, 4, or 8 people on a premium section of the Grand Lawn, along with a chef driven picnic basket dinner and accompanying wine by The Banyan House Restaurant. Your ticket will include a table, chairs, linens, plates, stemware, cutlery, and a luminary bag. All VIP attendees are invited to get into the spirit of the evening and decorate their table with specialty linens, floral arraignments, candelabras, vintage stemware and anything else your heart can dream of to elevate your dining table.

8:15 - 8:45 pm - Lantern placement + drone photography
8:45 - 10:00 pm - Projection art + live music

Ultimate Table-Setting Contest:
Here is your opportunity to show off your creative talents. Daring designs, sterling silver flatware, candelabras, vintage stemware, unique flower arrangements—bring it on! We want to see who can create the Ultimate Picnic Table Setting at Wellen Park’s Luminescense Festival. Judging is based on overall design and creativity so embrace your stylish flair with a theme, common thread, or motif to enhance your table setting’s “wow” factor. The little details can make all the difference!
Judging will be conducted by a local design professional who knows a thing or two about creating extraordinary spaces! They’ll be walking around undercover until we announce the winners. Grand prize winner will receive $250 gift card to the Banyan House and a case of wine. Three runners-up will receive $100 gift card to the Banyan House and a bottle of wine.
