On Friday, January 20, 2023, Folkmoot USA and the American Chinese Friendship Society of Western North Carolina, Present a Lunar New Year Celebration! Come usher in the Chinese New Year, also know as the Lunar New Year, at our First Annual Celebration!

Come usher in the Chinese New Year, also know as the Lunar New Year, at our First Annual Celebration! This beautiful holiday is recognized around the world and begins with the new moon that occurs sometime between January 21 and February 20. Festivities generally last until the following full moon. The holiday is sometimes called the Lunar New Year because the dates of celebration follow the phases of the moon.
While our celebration will not last quite that long, it will be no less full of exciting, traditional demonstrations and hands-on activities! Including: a Lion Dance, Calligraphy, a Tea Ceremony, and much more!
Tickets are only $20.00, and the proceeds will benefit the American Chinese Friendship Society of WNC, and Folkmoot USA.
While the events above will take place from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, we would love for you to join us early!
Our doors will open at 5:30 PM, and we are very excited to have the Sticky 8's Food Truck joining us for the first time at Folkmoot! Bring your appetite and pocketbook, and they will bring their unique southern-asian fusion cuisine to help create the ultimate experience for this event. You will also be able to make additional purchases at our Folkmoot LIVE! Bar, where we will be serving beer, wine, cider, etc.
