After a successful spring run, we are bringing back Lysistrata! Come join us for a whacky evening where you are transported to Ancient Greece for a riotous romp. We invite you to come dressed in your favorite Greek outfit or colors! To make the evening more lively, cocktails will be available for purchase before and during the show.
“Lysistrata” (LISS-i-STRA-da) is a bawdy anti-war comedy by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, first staged in 411 BC. It is the comic account of one woman’s extraordinary mission to end the Peloponnesian War, as Lysistrata convinces the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands as a means of forcing the men to negotiate a peace. Some consider it his greatest work!
This production is in a style of an old time radio show, with actors reading their lines from scripts on music stands with minimal movement. Actors will be in full costume to make you feel your are back in time.
