Description

Welcome to an evening of delight, pleasure, and entertainment!

This is a member's only private event—but not to worry—because the annual membership in the Joshua Tree Royal Ball Society is included in the ticket price! Royal Ball events will be held semi-annually near each equinox.

The scarlet red carpet will be adorned with the members of the Joshua Tree Royal Ball Society, dressed in Black & White Desert Formal, as they celebrate the spring equinox in grand style with Madame Harlequin on March 18, 2023 at the Hi-Desert Cultural Center in Joshua Tree. Wondering exactly what Black & White Desert Formal means? It’s creative, glamorous, fancy, festy, or even funky—all conjured in black and white.  Sandra Goodin Photography will be capturing the event and participants too!

The event features live and DJ dance music, awesome heavy hors d’oeuvres, decadent desserts, and fabulous prizes. There is a no-host cash/credit full bar featuring killer cocktails and mocktails, luscious teas and coffees, bubbly champaign and water, and more to wet your lips.  Before the dance music takes off, the ball opens with a ceremony honoring the spring equinox’s balance of day and night. Then the ball launches with Madame Harlequin on electric bass leading a live, funky, jam band. DJ Uncle Abe keeps the dance floor hot with funky, disco, and EDM sets. Guests can expect fabulous prizes for best dance moves, best dressed, and awards for fun games like… the limbo! Crowns of Royalty of the Ball will be awarded for attire, dancing, and playful presence. And we're having random drawings for other prizes where everyone attending gets a ticket.

Tickets with a membership purchased in advance are $35, and on day of event or at the door $45 (if available, but we expect this event to sell out). A limited number of VIP Tickets are available at $75 and include membership and event admission PLUS a Harlequin Hat + Sponsor Swag Bag valued at over $100 all by itself. (***LIMITED TO 50 GUESTS and MUST BE RESERVED IN ADVANCE***) Event sponsors currently include The Joshua Tree Distillery,  Mojave Medicinals, author Daniel Bohrod, Mazamar Studios, The Joshua Tree Voice, Joshua Tree Excursions, The Joshua Tree Music Festival, Joshua Tree Cakery, VG Automotive, La Matadora, Queen of Cups, Beauty Bubble, Bees Knees Barn AirBNB, Miss G Designs, Joshua Tree Rock Shop, Brewja Elixer, Gemini Ferrie, Grateful Desert, Sandra Goodin Photography, and Joshua Tree Gallery of Contemporary Art
