There are two types of tickets available, regular open play and guided open play, described below.
Mah Jongg Open Play
Looking for a fun evening of Mah Jongg? Join fellow players for Open Play, a relaxed and social event for players who are comfortable playing American Mah Jongg independently.
Enjoy an evening of friendly games, meet new players, and connect with others who share your love of Mah Jongg. Whether you're looking for a regular game or simply want another opportunity to play, Open Play offers a welcoming atmosphere for experienced players.
Your ticket includes:
· 6:00 to 6:30 pm Appetizers and social time
· 6:30 to 8:30 pm Open Play
· Mah Jongg mats and complete Mah Jongg sets provided for all tables
Please bring your 2026 National Mah Jongg League card.
Who should attend: Players who are comfortable playing American Mah Jongg independently. This session does not include instruction.
Mah Jongg Guided Play
Continue building your Mah Jongg skills in a fun, relaxed, and supportive environment! Guided Play is designed for players who have completed a beginner class or know the basics of American Mah Jongg and would like additional practice before joining regular games.
This is not a formal lesson. Instead, you'll play real games while instructor Paige Duncan circulates throughout the room to answer questions, explain the National Mah Jongg League card, offer strategy tips, and provide guidance with Charleston decisions, exposures, joker exchanges, and calling for Mah Jongg.
Whether you're looking to strengthen your confidence or simply want more practice with experienced support nearby, Guided Play is the perfect next step.
