Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Everett Theatre is pleased to bring you one of the most exciting cinematic events to grace our main stage and silver screen – the Mahoning Drive-In Road Show!  Join us for a night of cinematic nostalgia and laughs as Lehighton, Pennsylvania’s own Virgil and Mark join the Everett Film Team in bringing the legendary Mahoning Drive-In Theater experience indoors with an unforgettable 35mm double-feature of 1966’s The Ghost and Mr. Chicken and Munster, Go Home!.

THE GHOST AND MR. CHICKEN - 1966, Universal Pictures, 90 min, Dir: Alan Rafkin

Don Knotts plays Luther Heggs, an aspiring typesetter who hasn’t a ghost of a chance becoming a reporter – until he decides to solve a murder mystery and ends up spending a fright-filled night in a haunted mansion.  G-G-Guaranteed you’ll be scared until you laugh yourself silly!

MUNSTER, GO HOME! - 1966, Universal Pictures, 96 min, Dir: Earl Bellamy

Feel like crawling the walls? But even less like bucking the traffic jams or getting trampled at the beach? Take it easily. Take the family to your friendly neighborhood movie. THE MUNSTERS are there...their first full-length feature! And in Technicolor yet! Herman, Lily, Grandpa and Eddie...all The Munsters and Terry-Thomas too! You'll be laughing all the way!

But wait, there’s more!  The Mahoning Drive-In Road Show would not be complete without special program highlights!  Enjoy an exclusive welcome by Virgil and Mark, the faces behind the Mahoning Drive-In’s legendary programming, as they share a brief history surrounding drive-in theatres and Lehighton’s own Mahoning.  Relive the classic-drive-in experience with a full intermission featuring concessions for all your snacking needs, classic automobiles under the marquee, unforgettable 35mm intermission reels & shorts and unique collectibles.

Whether you’re a drive-in movie aficionado, a retro 35mm film enthusiast, or simply looking for an unforgettable evening, the Mahoning Drive-In Road Show at The Everett is a must-see event!  Bring your friends, your love for cinema, and your sense of adventure!  Secure your seat for this thrilling step back in time before it’s too late!

ABOUT THE EVERETT:  The Everett Theatre first opened on November 9, 1922, and remains the area’s cultural center for the cinematic, visual and performing arts.  The Everett’s stage is home to live stage productions, children’s theater and one of the finest movie screens on the Delmarva Peninsula.  Come early to claim the most famous seat in the house – Row G, Seat 104 – where the late legend Robin Williams sat during a pivitol scene in 1989’s Dead Poets Society, filmed locally and in The Everett.  The Everett’s 1938 Simplex E-7 projectors with Peerless lamphouses are among the very few carbon-arc projectors remaining in operation today.

ABOUT THE MAHONING:  The Mahoning Drive-In Theater was built in 1948, and opened for its first season the following year. Since then it has entertained moviegoers for over half a century on the largest CinemaScope screen in Pennsylvania. The Mahoning offers an exclusively retro 35mm film program, presented reel-to-reel via original 1940’s Simplex projectors.
