In this 5 week intensive students will learn to make and move panel skirts! Students will construct their own classic burlesque panel skirt and learn lessons on movement as well as a choreographed routine which they will perform at BHoF's own quarterly fundraising show, Tease: A Burlesque Revue at The Space.
In 2020 class instructor, Buttercup, received a grant to teach her Panel Skirt Making and Movement class to select students in Las Vegas. Now she teams with burlesque legend, Miss Nude Universe 1975, Tiffany Carter, to combine their talents & expertise. Tiffany performed burlesque from the 1960s through the 1980s and returned to the stage in 2008. Buttercup has been a featured entertainer in comedy, variety and burlesque shows in Las Vegas and internationally.
Students will meet once a week at the Burlesque Hall of Fame's School of Striptease on Tuesdays from March 14th through April 11th. Class culminates in a group performance at the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s fundraising show, Tease: A Burlesque Revue at The Space on Saturday, April 15th. Students will be paid a stipend for their participation in the show.
All fabric & materials needed for panel skirt making will be provided. Students will be responsible for providing costumes for final performance. More information on costuming will be provided in class.
This class is offered to all. The School of Striptease teaches using the motto, "all bodies are burlesque bodies."
Students are responsible to pay for any missed classes. NO DROP INS. Students must commit to full 5 week course to ensure performance opportunity. No refunds for missed classes. All sales are final. No admittance for missed payments. This course is scheduled to be taught in-person. The Burlesque Hall of Fame reserves the right to teach this course virtually, at its discretion. Furthermore, classes may be recorded via Zoom for any students who may need to miss a class. The goal of this class is to prepare students to perform. Performing in the final group performance on April 15th is required to complete this course. The School of Striptease reserves the right to exclude participation in the performance for poor attendance or incomplete work.
