What happens when you stop erasing and start repeating?

This MAKE @ MODA workshop is part of a hands-on series inspired by the book Do More Art: Print, which encourages experimentation, curiosity, and confidence through simple design exercises.

In this session, carbon paper becomes a creative tool for exploring repetition, transfer, and variation. Guests will layer marks, adjust pressure, and rework imagery to see how small shifts can create rhythm, movement, and depth. Rather than aiming for a single polished outcome, the focus is on process and noticing how ideas evolve through repetition.

This workshop stands on its own, but also connects naturally to the larger Do More Art–inspired series for guests interested in building design skills over time.

What to Expect:

  • Carbon paper as a creative tool. Experiment with transfer, tracing, and layered mark making.
  • Repetition with intention. Explore how copying and shifting marks create visual rhythm and variation.
  • Guided experimentation. Design prompts that support exploration without over-directing the process.

Perfect for adults curious about design and process-based making, this workshop blends hands-on exploration with design thinking. You will leave with a small series of layered works and a new appreciation for what repetition can do.
