Description

Workshop Name: Intro to Environmental Science

Description: There are a lot of interesting tools and procedures in the world of environmental science. Things like probes, sensors, survey gear, drones, and satellites help provide inputs for important procedural data collection methods like plant and animal species collection, priority habitat identification, and the chemical and physical measurement of soil and water. It is even more fun when we analyze and integrate all of this data into maps, diagrams, and dashboards to display the discoveries!

In this introductory course, participants will be introduced to some of the concepts, tools and technology associated with environmental data collection and display. Identifying, logging, charting, and displaying data is a fun skill to learn or expand. This basic introduction to citizen science concepts might inspire you to incorporate data collection into your own daily life!
