Description

In this TWO SESSION* class, participants will construct their own simple side table, starting from an example and learning the steps needed for any woodworking project.

While there are many ways to make a table, we will use one of the most common methods with consideration of movement in solid wood.  This class will pick up where the "Planning a Woodworking Project" class left off.  However, having taken the planning class is not a requirement.

Participants will begin by making a plan. Then, participants will move on to the wood, making the rough cuts, with milling and glue up as needed, followed by making final cuts, prepping the surface, cutting joints, and applying edge treatments. Finally, participants will assemble their table.

Tables will be brought home for any final sanding (there shouldn't be much) and then applying the preferred finish.  We will be working in Red Oak which will be provided and included in the cost of the class.

*Day 1: Saturday, October 3rd, 9 AM to noon; day 2: Sunday, October 4th, 2 to 5 PM.
