The experience begins inside Pike Place Market, where guests are guided through an interactive exploration of the six essential flavor tools that shape every great wine pairing: acid, fat, salt, sweet, bitter, and herbal. Rather than lectures, guests learn by tasting—sampling ingredients, exploring vendors, and discovering firsthand how each flavor behaves and why it matters. The Market becomes a living classroom, training the palate before a single glass is poured.
From there, guests move to a private tasting room overlooking Pike Place Market, where the game begins.
Guests are presented with a curated charcuterie spread—artisan meats, cheeses, olives, pickled elements, and accompaniments—alongside a guided wine tasting led by a vintner-style host. Each wine is introduced with a short, engaging story: where it comes from, how it was made, and what makes it distinct.
Using their newly learned flavor tools—and guided by beautifully designed cards or a simple mobile app—guests are challenged to pair the wines with the foods themselves. There are no wrong answers, only discoveries. Guests taste, experiment, debate, and refine their choices before submitting their pairings, unlocking explanations that reveal why certain combinations shine and how personal preference plays a role.
The experience concludes with a collective reveal, reflection, and toast—leaving guests with a deeper understanding of wine, a new way to taste, and a memorable story tied forever to Pike Place Market.
