Le Chat Noir is doing a theatre camp!
Ages 8-12 (20 spots) & 13-16 (20 spots)
Puppetry track (Ben Snead)- Students will be introduced to various styles of puppetry: shadow puppetry, rod puppetry, hand puppetry, and Bunraku; and will learn to build, manipulate, and perform with puppets.
Stagecraft (Krys Bailey)- Students will experience a broad range of technical theatre and performance art. Technical theatre lessons include basic stagecraft & special effects like air powered rigs, injury make-up, the crankie, goo (green goo for younger students, blood effects for older students) Performance art lessons will cover basics of improv and stage combat.
Stagecraft & Sideshow(Hewie Waymer)is a science teacher by trade but a fire performer by passion. You will see her helping to organize shows and wrangle performers. Always a source of creative energy. Her classes will include stage managing, poi, story creation.

On Saturday June 20nd there will be a one hour recital showcasing what students worked on that week.
MY KID WANTS TO DO THIS, WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Register online and purchase their spot. Registration is $220. We will send you necessary forms, you fill them out, and send back. Show up on time the day of and be ready to get silly.
Students will be required to wear closed toe shoes and clothes that they can get messy and allow freedom of movement.
There will be homework, but it will be fun. A list of suggested items to bring (like they would to school i.e. pencil, ruler, scissors, etc.) will be sent with registration form.
REFUND POLICY. We have kids and understand sometimes plans change.
The registration fee is completely refundable more than two weeks before camp starts, so throughout June 2.
If you cancel under two weeks (on June 3 or after) you will receive a 50% refund.
Under 3 days, if you cancel on June 13 or after, NO REFUND.

Le Chat Noir
Le Chat Noir (The Black Cat) is an intimate 60-100 seat theatre with attached lobby and full service bar that echoes a 19th century cabaret after one too many absinthes. Like it’s namesake, Le Chat Noir exists to produce and present entertainment to the CSRA that was previously not being offered.
