Ready to actually learn how to play American Mahjong? This two-part series is designed to take you from complete beginner to confident player who can follow the flow of a real game.

This is not a one-off intro class. When you sign up, you’re committing to both sessions so you can build skills over two weeks and leave with a full understanding of gameplay.

What to expect:

Week 1: Mahjong 101
Learn the fundamentals—tiles, terminology, Charleston, and the overall flow of the game. This class is designed for true beginners and sets the foundation for everything that follows.

Week 2: Mahjong 102
Put it all together. You’ll build walls, deal correctly, and play through guided games with support. We’ll focus on reading the NMJL card, choosing a hand, and understanding how a full game works in real time.

By the end of the series, you’ll have the knowledge and structure you need to join a table and start playing. Confidence comes with practice, but you won’t feel lost.
