WHAT TO EXPECT!
Update to camping at Rivers Edge Camp and Retreat Centre
Thank you for wanting to book with Rivers Edge Camp and Retreat Centre. Due to the public health restrictions put into place on May 9, 2021 by Alberta health services our offerings for the May long weekend have changed.
We will no longer be able to offer any activities, food service or ministry services. All buildings will remain closed to the public until restrictions are eased.
You can still come and camp in our campground, however, in order for our campground to remain open the following guidance and restrictions from Alberta Health Services CMOH Order 19-2021 will apply.
- All outdoor social gatherings must be limited to no more than 5 people and a maximum of 2 household cohorts. Mandatory physical distancing must be maintained at all times between members of different households.
- Physical distancing of 2 m must be in place between people from different households at all times during these activities, unless they are a person who lives alone and a close contact.
- If you are unsure whether something is allowed, please err on the side of caution and make the safest choice.
- Shared BBQ,s and sheltered tables are closed due to gathering restrictions; please plan accordingly.
- Continue to practice physical distancing – stay 2 metres apart when you can.
- Don’t visit if you’re sick or were recently exposed to someone with COVID-19.
- Bring a mask and wear it in all high use areas when you are unable to physically distance 2 meters, whether you are walking, hiking, playing etc.
- Bring your own hand sanitizer and tissues. Plan ahead to ensure you have enough food, toilet paper.
- Wash or sanitize your hands before and after using high-touch shared amenities like water fill stations and dumping stations.
- Follow all COVID-19 Information for Albertans and the advice of public health experts to protect yourself and others during this pandemic.
May 2021 Camping Season
Due to the risk of COVID-19, Rivers Edge has put a number of measures in place since last year to reduce spread, these measures will remain in place until AHS restrictions are eased. We expect these measures will support a smooth and safe opening to the 2021 camping season.
- Washroom/Shower facilities remain closed. All campers must have self contained units for Washrooms and cooking facilities.
- Group camping will remain closed as well, unless and until AHS group gathering restrictions are eased.
- Shared sites with shared amenities like picnic tables and fire pits will have one half of the site closed – the same as last year.
- All activities and shared equipment for recreation purposes will remain closed.
- If any cancellations are initiated by Rivers Edge due to COVID-19 restrictions, campers will be notified and receive a full refund – including the reservation fee.
