Description

Join the Rhode Island Historical Society and Audubon Society of Rhode Island on Tuesday, September 16, at 10am for a guided walk of Fisherville Brook Wildlife Refuge in Exeter, RI. Led by Laura Carberry, Audubon RI Director of Properties, guests will explore several different habitats at Audubon RI's largest property which includes forest, fields, and wetlands. Guests will also learn about some of the birds, trees, plants, and butterflies that call Fisherville Brook home. This hike is approximately 1.5 miles with some roots.  This program is a part of the RIHS's 2025 Homegrown RI, celebrating RI landscapes and the places and spaces we share, past and present.

General walk guidelines

Wear clothing and sturdy footwear appropriate for the weather conditions and for protection against sun exposure, ticks and other insects, briers, tree root etc. Bring a sufficient supply of water and nourishment for your needs.
