Description

Join the Rhode Island Historical Society for a member-exclusive visit to Jamestown's historic district, first stopping at Hard-Pressed Cider Company, followed by a visit to the Jamestown Windmill, a property of the Jamestown Historical Society.

 

The program will begin at 11am at Windmist Farm, where guests will enjoy fresh apple cider and cider donuts. While at Windmist Farm, members will be able to explore the farm.

 

Next, at 12pm,  guests will be given a tour of the Jamestown Windmill, learning the early history of Jamestown's agricultural community, the construction, and role the windmill played in that community, as well as how the Windmill is kept working condition today. Visitors can also climb to the bonnet to see the gears that translate the force of the wind into the work of turning the millstones.
