Members-Only Tour: Richard Hunt Monumental

Join us for an after-hours Members Only exploration of the work of Richard Hunt.

Richard Hunt: Monumental features approximately forty metal sculptures inside the Bow Truss at KANEKO.  It explores the idea of monumentality across Hunt’s long career, including a few pieces dating from the 1960s. The emphasis is on works created from the 1970s and onward as he focused more on large-scale commissions and public projects. Approximately half of the sculptures featured in the exhibition will be models, studies, or maquettes for large commissions. Most works included in the exhibition will be drawn from private collections and Hunt’s Studio and Estate collection. 

Many of these sculptures have not been exhibited in decades or have never been exhibited publicly. 

Stephan Grot, KANEKO Executive Director, will lead this tour.  Join in as Stephan discusses the art, philosophy, and materials that make Richard Hunt's work incredibly unique.

Tour will begin at 7 pm. The tour will be approximately 1 hour.
