Create and Paint your own Alebrijes!
Celebrate Latin Heritage Month by giving form to the vibrant, fantastical world of Mexican folk art. In this special hands-on workshop, you will learn foundational clay handbuilding techniques to sculpt your own unique alebrijes, the mythical creature popularized by Oaxacan artisans and Pedro Linares.
As you shape and detail your clay creation, enjoy an intimate live musical performance by Mexican singer/songwriter Verena, whose soulful melodies will set the atmosphere for a session rooted in culture, storytelling, and creative expression.
No pottery experience is needed, just bring your creativity and a love of color! Your finished piece will be glazed and fired by the studio and ready for pickup once it’s complete in a few weeks. This class will be taught in English and Spanish.
When: Saturday, October 24th, 2026
