MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR:

At just 16 years old, Cole Cady brings a lifetime of passion and hands-on experience to the great outdoors. A student at Lake Weir High School, he has been camping since the age of 6, sparked by weekend adventures with his dad and friends. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a personal mission—to camp twice every month and continually push the boundaries of their outdoor skills.

Mentored by lifelong outdoorsman Robert Wilson, Cole has learned the ropes from one of the best. Under his guidance, Cole gained a deep understanding of primitive survival skills and a respect for nature that he is now excited to pass on to others.

Certified in fire-starting with flint and steel, primitive shelter building, outdoor cooking, fishing, and hunting, Cole is no stranger to roughing it in the wild. He is also a skilled trapper of varmints and small game, with hands-on knowledge of processing and tanning animal pelts for long-term use. From building your first fire to understanding what it really takes to survive for days—or weeks—in the wild, Clay is a wealth of knowledge.

You might also recognize Clay as a historic demonstrator at Silver River Museum, Fort King Park, and other local events, where he brings history to life with traditional wilderness and survival skills.

Get ready to learn how to truly live off the land—no gadgets, no shortcuts, just old-school knowledge and respect for nature.
