Van Gogh and Matisse walk into a bar...

5:30-7pm 

 

Join the Santa Barbara Museum of Art at the CAW for a free art workshop exploring the connections between Henri Matisse and his predecessor, Vincent van Gogh.  Inspired by the current SBMA exhibition Through Vincent’s Eyes: Van Gogh and His Sources, guests create mash-up masterpieces by cutting and collaging colorful paper and details of Van Gogh’s brushstrokes into organic compositions that echo Matisse’s later work. Sip a glass of French wine and enjoy this creative dialogue between two of the world’s most famous artists.

 

Instructors: Kendall Pata and Mayela Rodriguez 

Participants must be age 21 and over.
