Description
Add a touch of farmhouse charm to your garden or home in this creative two-day mosaic workshop. Participants will create a pique assiette style mosaic hen and chick made from broken china, glass, and found ceramics on an acrylic, chicken shaped base. To personalize this experience, students are encouraged to bring their own broken (or unbroken-we'll break it) china, or favorite finds to incorporate into their artwork, making each chicken truly one of a kind. Additional materials will be available in the studio. Hens measure 7" tall and hatching chicks, approximately 3".
- Day One (Saturday morning 9:30-12:30, 3 hours) is dedicated to cutting, designing, and assembling your mosaic chicken, focusing on layout, colors, adhesives, and creative placement.
- Day Two (Sunday afternoon, flexible/drop-in 12:00-3:30, 1 hour needed) brings everything together with grouting and finishing techniques, resulting in a completed decorative chicken perfect for garden beds, patios, porches, or flowerpots.
- A third step of sealing your piece is necessary and can be completed in the studio the following weekend, or with a take-home sealer kit. Once sealed, your finished mosaic will be outdoor friendly, just like real chickens!
No experience is necessary. This beginner level, but intensive class is great for first-time glass artists or those with experience. All materials are included.

- Attendees must be at least 18 years of age, or 15 if participating with a parent or legal guardian.
- Proper attire is required for all class participants. You will need to wear closed toe shoes, socks and long pants.
- Protective eyewear will be provided, but feel free to bring your own safety goggles if you prefer.
- Each class will begin with a review of studio safety and proper glass cutting and handling techniques.
- Parking is available on and off-street in the lot alongside of our building (H & A Auto Parts lot)
- Our building is on the 2nd floor with stair only access.
Refund policy: We require a 48-hour (2-day) cancellation notice in order to issue a refund. If you do not cancel at least 48-hours in advance, no refund will be issued.
