Description
An early morning hike will take us into a private clearing in the forest for a sunrise workshop followed by lavender tea.
Angela Gonzales founder of Afro Fusion Maryland
Born in Lima, Peru, with deep roots from the African coast, Amazon, and Cusco, Angela is a creative movement artist, healer, and performer. Raised by a musician father and an artisan mother, her journey began through rhythm, art, and storytelling.
Now based in Maryland, Angela weaves ancestral dance, nature, and body movement into healing spaces for women. Her work centers on reconnecting with self through breath, earth, and rhythm—tools she has used in her own healing. Every circle she leads is a reflection of her lived experience: art, movement, and Mother Nature as medicine.
MOVEMeant: Sunrise Body Movement Workshop
Reconnect with your body and breath through mindful movement inspired by ancestral dances from Peru and Puerto Rico—flowing in harmony with the energy of the rising sun and the beauty of Mother Nature.
We’ll begin with gentle, grounding movements and breathwork, then awaken the body through vibrant dance inspired by Afro-Peruvian and Afro-Puerto Rican rhythms. Together, we’ll explore cultural dance techniques—moving with intention, energy, and joy—as live drumming guides our journey.
This is a full-body experience in nature that welcomes all levels. Please bring water, a yoga mat, and your open heart.
Let’s move, breathe, and heal in sisterhood—welcoming the new day with gratitude and presence.
