Description

Overview:  This will be an instructor course, and students will be acknowledged as Mental Performance Instructors under the mentorship of Dr. Pituk and his team at MP²: Mental Power Performance. Students will learn basic and advanced theories on psychological barriers that prevent individuals from achieving peak performance. Students will be taught evidence-based strategies and interventions to help individuals overcome mental obstacles, such as anxiety, stress, fear, hesitation, and physiological responses that hinder performance excellence. Managers and supervisors will be able to recognize employees who may have psychological indicators of performance breakdowns and then utilize the skill sets taught in this course to help their employees return to duty with enhanced knowledge and skills to overcome their performance obstacles during high stress situations.

Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to augment and inject psychological interventions into any subject matter they are teaching e.g., defensive tactics, firearms, use of force, and the Field Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP). Students will learn individual specific interventions, such as goal setting, imagery, visualization, biofeedback, self-talk, and mindfulness, which will enhance their teaching knowledge on the subject of mental performance.
