Description

Join us on Thursday, January 11 at 7:00pm for our second Music Creating Connection concert series featuring "Filament, Early Music Trio from Philadelphia". This ensemble of violin, viola da gamba and chamber organ brings to their music-making “a fervor and delight that make early music seem current”. Their program is a collage of 17th-century sonatas, fantasias, and dance music by the likes of Bertali, Buxtehude, Èlisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Salamone Rossi, and of course Sig. Incerto.

Reception to follow in Parish Hall.

Transportation for this event will be available for those who need it. Please call the church office: (803) 684-4021, well in advance.

VISION STATEMENT

The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in York has existed since 1852 as a witness to God’s grace. We believe that through Jesus Christ we are meant to faithfully and joyfully serve God, each other and our neighbors.

We believe in worshiping in the traditions of the Episcopal Church, in growing in our understanding of God’s love, and we invite others to experience the same.

We aim for our worship to be reverent, accessible and warm.

  • Reverent, as guided by the Book of Common Prayer and a rich musical ministry.
  • Accessible, to all ages and abilities and to those not familiar with the Episcopal service.
  • Warm, embracing all who worship with us in person or virtually, sharing our joys and sorrows, our concerns and thanksgivings.

While serving our greater community, with any who wish to be involved, we welcome and bear responsibility for those of all ages, races, and creeds, no matter their circumstances. Having served our community since 1852, our goal is to continue to broaden our service in this complicated world we live in.
