Frank and Ludmila Robson presented the Robson Performing Arts Center as a gift to the Claremore public school system in the Summer of 2006. Equipped with the best theatrical equipment available, this theatre can present everything from symphonies to Broadway musicals. The Robson Performing Arts Center had its first performance in August of ‘06. The Claremore Public School Foundation produced the show which was professionally directed and performed by The Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival.
The facility has two theatrical venues: The Main Theatre with 1,024 seats and a more versatile 50’X50’ Black Box Theatre.
The educational wing offers classes to the Choir, Band & Drama students. As well as practice rooms, makeup and dressing rooms, a scene shop with a 2 story garage door & loading dock, and 2 story entry doors to both, the Black Box Theatre & the Main Theatre. The Prop shop, Costume Shop and sewing room are also located in the educational wing.
The calendar is first offered to Claremore Public School teachers in January for the next fiscal year. Then we fill the rest of the calendar with season performances, facility rentals and/or touring productions.
